MajorTom allows multiple ways to synchronize content:
- Subscribe to Folders – Users can “subscribe” to a folder and then be notified immediately (or daily) if any changes are made to that folder. This can be beneficial for users that wish to be notified when new assets (such as presentations or collateral) are put into specific folders, when assets are downloaded from the folder, or when any content is modified in the folder.
- Synchronize Their Workstations – Using the SmartSYNC plug-in, users can have MajorTom “push” updated version of assets to them whenever they connect to the network, ensuring they always have the most recent files on their desktop. If you can imagine your sales team always having the most current PowerPoint presentation automatically, you can start to appreciate the power of this feature.
- Server Synchronization – Want a local server for storing high-bandwidth content? Want to have your local server synchronize certain content with MajorTom? Through our unique partnership with CelumSolutions, you can have a local Celum Imagine Server synchronize content with MajorTom.
Depending upon your situation, this might give you the best possible configuration: A local server secured behind your firewall for work-in-process files synchronized real-time with an enterprise hosted server for final assets that need to be shared with the enterprise.
